The fourth, final and most comprehensive volume in our GIALLO-MOVIE-POSTERS series covers almost 50 years, from 1975 to 2022, whilst other volumes in the series focus on films from just a few years. This is due to the way the genre has developed over the decades. Not only has the number of productions fallen sharply, but in the age of video cassettes, DVDs and Blu-rays, many films were no longer shown in cinemas at all, or only to a very limited extent. 

Nevertheless, this vast period offers plenty of important films and exciting posters – including classics such as Dario Argento’s TENEBRE, TERROR IN THE OPERA (OPERA) and PHENOMENA, or Lucio Fulci’s LO SQUARTATORE DI NEW YORK (THE NEW YORK RIPPER). And, of course, there are plenty of little-known and curious facts to discover once again. This volume also includes an extra chapter featuring promotional material for a closely related genre: the home invasion film.

Der vierte, letzte und unfangreichste Band unserer GIALLO-MOVIE-POSTERS-Reihe deckt mit dem Jahren 1975 bis 2022 fast 50 Jahre ab, während sich andere Bände der Reihe mit den Filmen aus einigen wenigen Jahren beschäftigen. Dass dem so ist, liegt daran, wie sich das Genre im Lauf der Jahrzehnte entwickelt hat. Nicht nur, dass die Anzahl der Produktionen stark zurückgegangen ist, viele Filme wurden im Zeitalter von Videokasetten, DVDs und Blu-rays gar nicht mehr, oder nur sehr eingeschränkt im Kino gezeigt. 

Trotzden bietet dieser riesige Zeitraum genügend wichtige Filme und spannende Plakate – unter anderem zu Klassikern wie Dario Argentos TENEBRE, TERROR IN DER OPER (OPERA) und PHENOMENA oder Lucio Fulcis LO SQUARTATORE DI NEW YORK (DER NEW YORK RIPPER).
